What is "Ridna Shkola?"

Ridna Shkola (meaning "native school" in Ukrainian) is a supplementary educational program for children of Ukrainian descent. Usually meeting on weekends, these schools teach the Ukrainian language, history, geography, and culture to maintain heritage and identity in the diaspora.
These programs are typically organized by local churches, Ukrainian community organizations, or parent committees. In the United States including the Eastern Pennsylvania region and other Western countries, they provide a crucial link to Ukrainian heritage for second and third generation immigrants
